Then we went for the test-drive, with the sales manager, Mr. Goldschmidt. We were four persons in the Nowack and four person in the M5 we drove on track. Mr Goldschmidt had been a salesman at Mercedes tuner Brabus and told stories about clients from Moscow (certain "influential bosses", if you get the message) who wanted "that car (the E class) with that engine (the 7.3 liter 583 HP V12)". That was how the worlds fastest sedan, the Brabus E V12 was born, restricted at 330 km/h. But Brabus have the same boring approach to cars as Mercedes, they only have automatic gears. You could go up to Brabus and give them 20 000 US Dollars for changing to manual gears on your newly tuned E55 and you won't get it.

First impression inside are the new speedometer and revcounter. The speedometer goes to 340 km/h and the revcounters redline is now 7500 rpm, but in fact the revlimiter is at 7700 rpm. Here we "only" going at 200 km/h. Quite an experience going 200 km/h to 300 km/h between the gaps of traffic on the German Autobahns at 5 o'clock in the evening, rush hour!

A closer inspection of the instruments. Very nice done!
Here we have Herr Goldschmidt and the car. There are special designed exhausts system incl. stainless steel manifolds and stainless steel rear mufflers. And it sure didn't sound like your neighbor's M5!

Here we have a unique design of the tailpipes.

BBS LeMans originally intended for the racetrack. The center plaque tells you that the car has BBS Racetrack wheels

Filling up for gas. We used 60 liters in half an hour. I bet OPEC countries like this car... This besides the instruments reveals that the car is a Nowack M5.
Wheels for serious driving. Great acceleration has to be matched with great deceleration. Here we have the 360 mm, same as on Porsche GT2 Long Distance.

Impression

We sure did leave the original M5 behind us. But that was in speeds often over 250 km/h then the limiter kicks in on the original, and this was without one. So over 250 km/h we couldn't really compare. But we tried against the original M5 in 6th gear from about 2500 rpm. Surprisingly the original M5 got ahead up to about 3500 rpm, gaining maybe a half car length. But since the engine volume wasn't increased on the Nowack M5 and the power was attainable at higher rpm -thus less power at lower rpm- this was logical. Because of the traffic we couldn't compare the cars more, but I'm sure the Nowack would have gained at higher rpm. Anyway, we verified the >300 km/h top speed with four persons in the car without any problem. So I don't want to make any conclusion based on this 40 min. test drive.

My spontaneous comment when driving this car was that it was more like an combination of the European M3 E36 engine (revs to 7500 rpm) and the E39 M5 engine. And that is a more fun, not so flat torque curve. You want to rev this car to the redline as much you want (or must...) rev a M3 engine (or 1100 cc superbike for that matter).
