Here we are at Kelleners met up with the last one of the six M5. So here we were with six M5 and one M3, so we we're treated very good. The subjects of alterations were:
Kelleners is run buy the founder of the companies son, Ralf Kelleners a professional racing driver. The motto is "Our creativity in high technology takes care of your individuality...".
Some of Ralf Kelleners racing include (quote from Kelleners website); "Company owner Ralf Kelleners is a professional racing car driver and has been notable praised for his speed and stamina. He has thrived in an extremly competetive sporting industry and continues to do so. As a carting vice-champion for Europe and the formula ford 2000 German champion Ralf had hid first taste of well earned success. In the German touring-car championship he was equally at home and stepped then into the German GT cup, wich he won in 1994 (also in 1994 Champion of 'New Zealand' - in a Porsche R.S.R) and was runner-up in 1995 (in a Porsche GT2). In 1996 Ralf won the Carrera Cup (a superb achievement ) and consequently gave him the opportunity to race and win (in categorie) in the most famous race of all '24 hr of LE-MANS'. In November '96 Ralf was invited to race as a Porsche works driver in 'Zhu-Hai', China in a GT1 and finished the race in first place. A victory for Porsche, a victory for Ralf Kelleners. A good year indeed and in 1997 he had more to come ... Starting the season with a win (in GT2) of the '24hrs of Daytona', USA. Driving in the GT World championship for 'Roock racing' in a Porsche GT1 he finished 2nd in 'Helsinki' and as a Porsche factory driver he took 4th place in 'Mugello' and 3rd place in 'Laguna Seca'. Once again he raced in 'Le-Mans' but this time for Porsche factory in a GT1. In 1998 Ralf signed with Toyota - a programme just for 'Le-Mans' wich gave him the opportunity to race in America on several occasions in the GT1 Champion-motor porsche car. Winner of the 1000 miles of 'Rd-Atlanta' (otherwise known as 'the petite Le-Mans') in GT1 and winner in the 6hrs of 'Watkins Glen' also in GT1 Categorie. A busy year indeed for Ralf who was also racing in the Porsche Supercup (wich he finished 4th Overall) a race that supports the Formula-one events. Toyotas GT1 at 900 kg in weight with 650 h/p and a top speed of 350 km/h was a sure winner at 'Le-Mans' always one step ahead of Porsche and leading the race for 13hrs. Disaster unfortunately hit just one hour before the finish (after the last driver change (from Ralf Kelleners to Thierry Boutsen)) when the gear box could simply not go on. Dissapointed - of course especially since this was the second time that Ralf was leading with the finish line in sight. The previous year with Porsche factory he had to escape from a burning car one and a half hours before the finish. Can he make it this time finally to win this unbelievable race? This of course is the sport, highs, lows, good and bad. Kelleners did something in that Toyota though he proved to himself and others that he was fast, he was powerful and he was a leader... ." |

| Kelleners showroom. Here is the new (as of May 2000) 328i Convertible. Quite nice! Kelleners wheels and interior is fitted. The front seats safety belts are integrated in the chair as on 8-series. This 328i have the BMW Aerodynamic package. |
|
| So, in with a speed Kelleners Speedmodul and out with the restricted top speed of 250 km/h. This has German TUV on it and the car will do 296 km/h real speed. Now we're fit for a fight with the "elite" of the Autobahn! |

Here we have the Kelleners Exhaust made of stainless steel. The system consist of the rear silencers. The diameter for the four pipes is increased to 76 mm. It looks powerful, but the look is nothing compared to the sound! With this you get the real V8 sound. It doesn´t sound too loud inside but just right. Outside the car the sound is impressive. It is very powerful, strong V8 sound. The standard exhaust simply sounds more like a vacuum-cleaner compared this. Now we will not only see your car- we will hear it coming! I wish the exhausts could be this clean all the time! Personally I think twin round pipes original design but with larger diameters are the most stylish on the new M5. |

Here are the mechanics installing the Chip and Speedmodul. This M5 is special. Porsche GT2 380 mm diameter brakes provided by Movit. Originally intended for the Porsche GT2 Long Distance they offers giant calipers with dustshields, titan bolts between rotor and hat, stainless steel brake lines and state of the art brackets made of strongest aircraft aluminum. Pagid RS 9 yellow brake pads. So these brakes are of course overdimensioned, but how could things that could save your life be overdimenstioned? Only '18 wheels fit on this car now because the diameter of the brakes. The wheels are AC Schnitzer Type II wheels. |

This is the vehicle originally intended for these brakes, Porsche 911 GT2 Evolution. Engine power is 600 HP and 1100 kg in weight. |

Here we dyno the cars. Three cars got a new chip. The cars were tested before and after on the dyno. The chip was optimized on each car with several tests and program changes after running on the dyno 4-6 times. The rev limiter was increased with 200 rpm to 7200rpm. Together with the exhaust the chip gave approx. 30Nm extra torque and 25 horsepower which was verified on the dyno. |
Here is the power and torque curve on the 1999 Avusblue M5. There were no alterations at all onthis car and completely original. This was the strongest of all M5 before we chipped the other cars. 266,4 kW at the rearwheels, which is 357 HP. 510 Nm in torque at 4410 rpm is also a good result. |

Conclusion Besides we we're very well taken care of, Kelleners did a good job modifying our cars. They also invited us to drive with Ralf Kelleners himself to Hockenheim and try out our modified cars. Isn't that what you call an offer you couldn't refuse? Three of the M5 cars changed their suspension to Kelleners sport chassis. This included in the front two spring strotts with linear springs. In rear two spring shockabsobers with progressive cushioning. The car becomes 15-20 mm lower. Addition to this they mounted two stronger anti roll bars. The one in front is fixed but the one in rear is adjustable in two steps depending how sporty driving (oversteering) you want. This chassis kit was developed by race driver Ralf Kellener I mentioned above. The chassis makes the M5 alot more fun to drive. It reacts much quicker and you feel the road better. The car becomes more of a sport car. You loose some of the comfort but for the active driver the choice is easy to take. Fifth car has the AC Schnitzer chassis which is softer than Kelleners.
