The work on the cars have begun. Notice the BMW 507 restoration in progress far right. The new Hartge wheels are on the pellets ready for attachment.

Hartge needed 3 hours per car to fit the wheels due to inside body work in the wheelhouse. No afterwards painting were needed. You can not from the outside see any of the body work. Hartge 20" Nova. Rear 10" 275/30 and front 9" 245/35. Not your ordinary tires...

This is NOT an Hartge car. But this was for sale at the Hartge showroom and is really worth mentioning. It is a 3 series Compact with M3 3,2 (that is for us outside America 321 HP and 350 Nm of torgue) engine and SMG gearbox. Also it is extensivly modified so that you can switch gears on the steering wheel just as Formula 1. It has M3 seats, M5 design quad exhausts. A very special car !

M5 parking only...

After the test drive we took three M5 to the restaurant about half an hour from the Hartge headquarters. Two were equipped with the Nova 7 wheels and one was with the standard wheels. During a lunch with Mr Hartge and his designer were we discussing among other things the future of BMW, will it be Ford (back to Mr Reitzle) or will BMW survive independent in a world of auto conglomerates? Mr Hartge told us that he recently bought a BMW 507 which he is planning to restore to original condition.

When we had tried the German cuisine (I had the not-so-unfamiliar Schnitzel) we went back to Beckingen. Those two of us who went with the M5 with original wheels noticed that EVERYBODY looked at the two Hartge equipped M5s, but no one on ours. Hmm, we were after all driving an M5. So of course we had to switch to Hartge on this car too. So after lunch we sent in the Oxfordgreen M5 to Hartge too.

Here we have from the left an Oxfordgreen M5 (with Hartge 20' wheels, Kelleners chip, speedmodul and exhaust), Avusblue M5 (AC-Schnitzer suspension and Movit GT2 brakes), Carbonblack M5 (Movit GT2 Long Distance brakes front and rear, AC-Schnitzer front spoiler lips and 19' Racing Wheel Type III wheels, Kelleners chip, speedmodul and exhaust), Carbonblack M5 (Hartge 20' wheels, Kelleners chip, speedmodul and exhaust) and at last a Titansilver M5 ( Hartge 20' wheels, Kelleners chip, speedmodul and exhaust, AC-Schnitzer front spoiler lip)
