About the M5 Extravaganza:

It is time to mark your calendars for the second annual M5 Extravaganza. This event combines the fun of meeting a large group of fellow M5ers with the opportunity to drive, watch and drool over some of the coolest cars in the world. The Extravaganza begins at Sears Point International Raceway with an optional day of driving with professional instruction in your M5 or Z8 on one of the world's best known race tracks. The track has just been completely reconstructed this year. Attendees will then caravan 175 miles down the coast of scenic Northern California, en route to the famous and beautiful Monterey Peninsula. There they may attend any or all of the famed Pebble Beach Week events, including the Concorso Italiano, the Monterey Historic Automobile Races at Laguna Seca, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Blackhawk Exhibition.

Headquarters for the event will be the Monterey Marriott. Familes are welcome.

More information on each of these attractions, as well as lodging information and directions, can be found in the Resources section of this site. The event is still in its formative stages. Check back at this site often for updates!

Spread the word! Please download this flyer (PDF format, 28K), print it out, and bring copies to your dealer. Encourage them to mail it to their M5 customers. Keep some in your car! Leave one on any M5 you see!

Important Information:
  1. You must reserve your hotel room(s) as soon as possible. All hotels in the Napa and Monterey areas sell out quickly at this time of year. The information you need is on the Lodging Page.

  2. You must purchase tickets for the events you wish to attend. The City of Monterey, in an effort to manage traffic, lodging and crowds during this popular week, limits attendance. Organizers sell tickets in advance, and tickets will sell out quickly. Event information including ticket purchase process is available from the Resources page. This does not apply to the Sears Point Track Day. Registration for this event is being handled separately (on the E39 Forum.)
March 13: $425

PLEASE HELP GUSTAV COME TO THE U.S!!

We are all deeply indebted to Gustav Traff of Sweden for establishing and maintaining bmwm5.com. As our way of saying "thank you for this wonderful resource", we raised nearly $7000 in 2001 through voluntary member donations to bring Gustav to the U.S. We want to do better this year because we have twice as many members! We are now accepting donations to pay for Gustav's travel expenses to M5 Extravaganza. You do not need to attend to contribute! Simply make a PayPal payment in any amount you see fit to Paul Preston (email address pp2000@pacbell.net) and designate it for the "Gustav Fund".
